Ellen Hines

Having grown up in Jasper National Park, I was fortunate to spend my childhood with a constant flow of animals in my yard. For as long as I can remember, I always sensed a direct link to their feelings. However, only later in life was I able to pursue my fascination with the world of metaphysics, particularly animal communication.

In my paintings,

I strive to communicate
with the soul and spirit of my subjects.

Their capacity to communicate never ceases to amaze me.

After I graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.A. in Art History, which also included courses in painting, printmaking, and aesthetics, the world of travel exuded a greater pull on me than the world of art. And, unfortunately, the paints were put away for many years. However, I did have the oportunity to visit several of the great galleries of the world. So, Art stayed with me on my various journeys.

Now, I have come full circle and 
I'm back living my artistic dream! 

I'm merging my artistic capabilities with all of the experiences and knowledge I have accumulated throughout the years. So, with this sense of history, communication, and beauty,
